The Lokken are also a buffer for us from the xenophobic Themlar, a biological species who don't recognise the right of any other race than their own to exist, and who openly claim their intent to kill us all if they get the chance. If the Lokken are my Vulcans, the Gurites are a rather vulgar Romulan Empire. The Gurites however are another matter - belligerent and hostile since day one. I see them as the Vulcans to my Humanity. I've recently founded a colony with Lokken migrant settlers.

We are great friends with the Lokken - our friendly lizard allies - with whom we have the full array of pacts and agreements. The neighbours: My nascent empire (in blue) has the Lokken to the west and the Gurites to the east. Internally, my Empire is is satisfactory shape, although I haven't expanded very efficiently (still learning!) and have an Empire Sprawl about 30 or 40 points above my administration capacity. That probably conveys much of the relevant information, but there's much more to summarise and discuss.
I've taken a couple of screenshots to convey more information more quickly. In my alltime favourite game, Sid Meier's Alpha Centurai, my faction of choice was always Deidre Skye and the Gaians - the ultimate builders. My preferred playstyle: In most games of this nature I like to play Builder-style empires, focusing on having a solid base and strong economy which, by the mid- and late-game, can outpace the faster and more aggressive "rush" empires that dominate the early game.
